Flooded carpet?
We pull the water and the wet pad.
A burst pipe, a leaking water heater or an overflowing tub can soak carpet and pad in minutes. We come out, extract the water, remove the soaked pad, treat the area with disinfectant and set up fans to dry it.
We handle water-damaged carpet across the Portland metro, including Lake Oswego, West Linn, Beaverton, Hillsboro and Vancouver. The faster the water comes out, the better the chance of saving the carpet, so call as soon as you find it.
How we handle wet carpet
Extract the water
We extract the standing water out of the carpet and as much as we can from the pad.
Pull back the carpet and remove the wet pad
Pad soaks up water like a sponge and holds it against the subfloor. Cutting out the wet pad is the only way to dry what's underneath.
Treat the area
We spray a disinfectant on the exposed subfloor and the back of the carpet.
Set up fans to dry it
Air movers push air across the floor and under the carpet. We leave them running so the subfloor and carpet backing dry out.
A flooded bedroom in Lake Oswego
Water spread across a bedroom and into the doorway. Here's the job from pad removal to drying.

The carpet is pulled back and the soaked pad is cut out. The stains on the subfloor show how far the water spread.

With the wet pad gone, the subfloor can be treated and dried instead of staying wet under the carpet.

An air mover at the doorway pushes air across the room and under the carpet.

The carpet lifts as air moves underneath it. That airflow dries the backing and the subfloor at the same time.
Watch: the room after extraction
This short video shows the same Lake Oswego room after we extracted the water, removed the pad and sprayed disinfectant, with the fans running.
Once everything is dry, we put in new pad, re-stretch the carpet so it lays flat again and give it a thorough deep clean. See carpet stretching and carpet repair in Lake Oswego.
