Walk-Through & Assessment

We look at the whole space first — carpet type, traffic patterns, problem areas, stains. This tells us what pre-spray to use and where to focus extra attention.

Pre-Vacuum

We vacuum before we clean — every single job. Most companies skip this. Dry soil has to come out first or the steam cleaning just pushes it around. This step alone makes a noticeable difference.

Pre-Spray

We apply either our eco-friendly or regular pre-spray to break down oils, traffic soil, and ground-in dirt before steam cleaning begins. It gives the hot water extraction a much better shot at a deep clean.

Spot & Stain Treatment

Every visible spot gets individual treatment before cleaning. We work on spots most companies give up on — old coffee, red wine, pet stains, ink. We don't quit until we've gotten out everything that can come out.

Brush Pro (Surgeon's Best)

Our rotary brush machine agitates the fibers and works the pre-spray deeper into the carpet pile — especially effective on heavily soiled carpet and high-traffic areas. This step is what separates Surgeon's Best from everything else.

Hot Water Extraction

200°F+ truck-mounted steam cleaning. High heat, high pressure, powerful suction — this is what actually pulls the dirt, allergens, and cleaning solution back out of the carpet. Truck-mounted means stronger suction than any portable machine.

Applied after cleaning, Teflon protectant creates a barrier around each carpet fiber that makes future spills bead up instead of soak in — giving you more time to blot them up before they stain.

Truck-Mounted vs. Portable — Why It Matters

Our primary equipment is truck-mounted hot water extraction — the most powerful carpet cleaning method available. The machine stays in the truck and runs at 200°F+, with significantly stronger suction than any portable unit can generate. Portable machines are useful for high-rises and some apartment situations where truck access isn't possible — we carry one for those jobs — but for standard home cleaning, truck-mounted is the gold standard. That's what we use.

Most carpets are dry within 5-8 hours — but it depends on a few things: carpet thickness, time of year, and how much airflow is in the space. Thicker carpet holds more moisture and takes longer. Opening windows and running fans speeds it up significantly. We also offer commercial drying fans — we can leave them with you if the carpet needs extra help drying faster.
Hot water extraction (what most people call steam cleaning) is widely considered the most effective method — and it's what we use. It penetrates deep into the carpet pile, flushes out dirt and allergens, and extracts everything back out with powerful suction. Dry cleaning uses chemicals to encapsulate soil and is faster to dry, but it doesn't clean as deeply. For most residential and commercial carpet, hot water extraction at 200°F+ is the right choice.
For most homes, once a year is a reasonable baseline. If you have pets, kids, or high foot traffic — every 6 months is better. If you're diligent about vacuuming and your home is low-traffic, you might be fine every 12-18 months. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional cleaning at least annually to maintain warranty coverage. It depends on how deep the urine has gone. Our pet urine pre-treatment is very effective on surface odors and staining. If the urine has soaked through the carpet into the padding or reached the subfloor, cleaning will reduce the smell temporarily but it will return — because the source is below the carpet. We work on spots most companies give up on — red wine, coffee, juice, ink, grease, mud, and old set-in stains. Our pre-treatment and hot extraction process removes a lot of what seems permanent. That said, some stains (like bleach or certain dyes) permanently alter the carpet fiber and can't be cleaned out — those require a section repair. We'll always be upfront about what's realistic before we start.
Carpet shampooing is an older method that uses a rotary machine to work shampoo into the carpet, then vacuum it up dry. It can leave residue that attracts dirt and makes carpet re-soil faster. Hot water extraction (what we do) injects hot water and cleaning solution at high pressure and immediately extracts it back out — removing both the dirt and the cleaning agent. It's a more thorough clean with less risk of residue buildup.
You don't have to — we pre-vacuum as part of our process on every single job. That said, if you want to pick up any loose debris or pet hair before we arrive, it doesn't hurt. The pre-vacuum we do is specifically about getting dry soil out before steam cleaning begins, which makes the extraction much more effective.

Yes — we carry a portable machine specifically for situations where truck access isn't possible, like high-rises and some apartment complexes. The portable doesn't match the power of our truck mount, but it's still professional-grade hot water extraction and gets excellent results.
