Not the generic stuff — the questions Portland homeowners actually ask us.

Most of the time we can fix it. We cut out the damaged area and seam in a matching piece, usually taken from a closet. Torn edges at doorways can often be stretched over, trimmed and tucked back in. If the damage is spread across the whole room, we will tell you replacement makes more sense. You get a straight answer at the estimate.
Yes, we redo other people's patches all the time. We cut the old patch out, square up the edges, put new seam tape underneath and seam in a new piece so it lies flat and blends in.
We can usually take a piece from inside a closet and put a remnant back in the closet. On small repairs, stretching the room sometimes leaves enough trimmings to use. If you want the closet to match more closely, we can take a sample to our supplier.
They can — but usually only if the underlying cause isn't addressed. Ripples come from improper installation, humidity fluctuation, or moving heavy furniture. We'll talk to you about what caused yours before we stretch it. And unlike every other company in Portland, we back our stretching with a 3-year warranty. If the ripples come back, we come back — free.
We recommend light foot traffic (with clean socks — no bare feet) within 30 minutes, and keeping shoes off for at least 6 hours. Full drying takes 4–8 hours depending on carpet thickness, humidity, and airflow. We'll give you specific guidance for your home on the day of the job — and turning on fans or AC significantly speeds up drying.
Some things, yes. Bleach spots, some dyes, rust and permanent ink usually won't come out with cleaning because the color is gone or set in the fiber. Pet urine that has soaked into the pad or subfloor needs more than a surface clean. We look at every stain before we start and tell you what to expect. When a stain won't come out, a patch is often the fix, and we do that too.
Often, yes, if you call quickly. We extract the water, pull up the wet pad and set fans to dry the carpet. The pad gets replaced and the carpet stays. Once it is dry and reinstalled, we deep clean it.
For cleaning, we move standard pieces like sofas, chairs and coffee tables. Beds, dressers, entertainment centers and pianos need to be moved before we arrive. For stretching, we usually need to get to two walls, and we slide furniture around on glides while we work. Furniture moving for stretching is priced with your estimate.
Most people say steam cleaning, but what pros actually use is hot water extraction. Hot water and cleaning solution go deep into the pile, then a strong vacuum pulls it back out along with the dirt. It is the method most carpet manufacturers recommend.
Yes. We come out, look at the carpet and measure only the areas that need work, then give you a price. Whole-house square footage usually counts closets, bathrooms and space under walls, so the real number is often smaller than people expect.
